Inception – Synopsis
It had been more than a decade since Jake first put on a uniform, and a little over two weeks since he’d taken it off for the last time.
Virtually his whole life had been lived side by side with his twin brother, even during their time in the British military, so not only was he facing the change of career and lifestyle, but Damien’s disappearing act to God knows where had left him feeling like his left arm had been amputated. This wasn’t actually the way he’d envisaged his return to civilian life.
Flying out to Philadelphia, Jake was really looking forward to reconnecting with his older brothers and their wives, and he had dreams that maybe this new beginning would bring him as much happiness as it had brought Eli and Aaron.
This wasn’t just the beginning of a new chapter, it was a completely new life he could create from scratch, and he seriously couldn’t wait to get started.
A talented portrait artist, Gina’s idyllic Californian life was snatched away from her during a family vacation staying with her beloved grandmother in Mexico the day the cartel drove through the village, burning the church, kidnapping young women, and killing anyone who stood in their way.
Five months after her kidnapping, and after several months in captivity with one of the traffickers, Gina’s shocked when the FBI turn up out of the blue to rescue her and ship her across the country to start a new life.
Unsure if the cartel are still looking for her, and aware that she could hold the key to prosecuting some of the main players in the trafficking network, Cole Arthurs, the FBI Director, turns to his friends to ensure that Gina’s kept safely hidden and she finds herself offered the protection of a tall, dark and drop-dead gorgeous former soldier.
Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, Gina accepts the offer, but she’s in no doubt that the guy is totally out of her league. When Jake actually starts showing an interest in her, Gina can’t figure out whether she’d be crazy if she accepted what he was offering, or seriously crazy if she didn’t.
